Young European Leadership is proud to announce that the Young European Council 2016 (YEC) was granted the patronage of the European Parliament. The YEC 2016 will take place from November 7-11, 2016 in Brussels. The conference aims at providing innovative yet practical input to European policymaking from a young perspective. As the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, elaborated: “Now more than ever, Europe needs committed and hardworking young people, willing to become actors of change and progress and actively participate and engage in public life, to drive the democratic development of the European project and shape Europe’s future. I particularly appreciate that your project gives an important place to the inter-generational exchange of experience and knowledge, this being one of the most important tools in creating a culture of proactive citizenship in public European spaces, and assuring a shared sense of European democracy and togetherness.” More information about the international conference at younglead.eu/yec.
