The European Commission launched the new package on Circular Economy on December 2015. Now stakeholders can have their say and get the chance to debate on what has been proposed in the action plan and in the legislative proposals on waste. YEL did not miss the opportunity to participate at this vital event! Circular economy is all about future and how we want to shape the world of tomorrow. The circular approach is a concrete alternative to our present ‘produce-consume-waste’ model. It can be defined as an economy ‘that is restorative and regenerative by design, and which aims to keep products, components and materials at their highest utility and value at all times, distinguishing between technical and biological cycles’.

The adoption of the underlying model is interesting at least from two perspectives – the environment and economic growth. Thus, the sessions at European Circular Economy Conference will focus on both of the issues. Follow YEL delegation on Facebook and Twitter #circ2016. Read more about the conference here.
